Rain was in the forecast that morning. We planned a sunrise session at Great Falls & had rescheduled for weather once already and were determined not to have to again. We decided to just go ahead and go for it and if the heavens opened up we’d just have to get wet! Wouldn’t you know it, we didn’t feel a single raindrop all morning and ended up with some of the most beautiful portraits! I’m so glad these two were willing to take a little risk and be flexible!

I have known Dominic since we were about 10 – we were neighbors in an apartment complex for several months while both our families were waiting for our houses to be built. When we moved into our new house, the Ferrells were moving in down the street! Dom was basically like another brother to me when we were growing up and a lot of my middle school and high school memories have to do with him and my little brother doing all kinds of crazy/dangerous physical stunts or activities! They were always up to something. When Dom & I graduated high school, he joined the Army and ended up in Colorado and we didn’t see him for several years. He got out of the military and just recently moved back into town with his beautiful wife Kt and their two adorable pups, and I was SO excited when Kt asked me to take some portraits of them!

I brainstormed some locations within a reasonable driving distance that were outdoorsy and maybe had some rocks since I know they went hiking with the dogs all the time in Colorado, and I know they miss it. We loved exploring Great Falls, and so did the dogs! We had so much fun and Dom & Kt were such troopers even though we were all drenched in sweat from beginning to end of their session! Huge shout out and thank you to my hubby Andrew for hanging onto the dogs between shots, making sure I didn’t slip and fall, and for being our wilderness guide – you’re the real MVP!

Dom & Kt, you two are such a perfect match. Thank you for choosing me to capture the joy you share when you’re together! Enjoy some of my favorites!!
