Fall is here in Virginia and it’s breathtaking. As my momma and I drove down to Blacksburg for Lexi’s session, I was so relieved to see that there were still leaves on the trees and that they were bright and beautiful! A lot of them had already fallen, but I love those fiery reds and oranges even if they’re on the ground 🙂 Thankfully Virginia Tech’s campus is full of trees, especially down by the Duck Pond, so we had lots of those rich colors all around us and It. Was. Amazing.
I have never seen a college campus as stunning as Virginia Tech’s. Granted I haven’t been to very many colleges, but still!! Lexi led us on a little tour of campus as we shot, and I absolutely LOVED the fact that most of the buildings, specifically the ones lining the drill field, are made with stone that is mined in Tech’s very own quarry just outside Blacksburg!! They call it Hokie Stone! I’m sure most people already know that but I thought it was so neat!! It has such a lovely texture and tone, and it was so fun to feature it in her session!
But far more beautiful than the fall leaves and the architecture is the amazing woman whose portraits I had the honor of taking. Lexi’s gorgeous blue eyes, sweet smile, and clever wit made this session one for the books. I say this about every session, I know, but THIS one is a new all-time favorite for sure!! I’m so blessed to have seniors who are not only hardworking and multifaceted, but have amazing hearts as well! It’s always a treat for me to brag on them 😉 Lexi has the kind of personality that just captivates you. She is genuine, caring, and so kind. She loves crafting, Doctor Who (as you’ll likely notice later in this post!), serving her community, and is so proud to be a Hokie. She is also immensely talented and intelligent! This lady is a member of the Marching Virginians and Tau Beta Sigma, was an honor system panel member, and is graduating in December with a degree in Microbiology! She hopes to study medical laboratory science after she finishes her undergrad, and she dreams of one day becoming an epidemiologist! She also works part-time at a local Blacksburg restaurant! WHEW! You go, girl!!
Thank you, Lexi, for sharing your home away from home with me! I’m so grateful to have been your senior photographer 🙂
Enjoy some of my favorites!!
