When Reilley and I agreed to meet on the banks of the river for his senior portraits, I thought it would be the perfect place and hoped he would love the spot I chose. When we got there, he laughed and told me he thought it was funny that I gave him directions to his fishing spot!! Apparently he goes there all the time, so that made shooting there even more perfect than I originally planned! Score!

I knew this session was going to be a good one from the first shot. The weather was perfect, the fall colors were just starting to peek through, and Reilley was a natural! He loves the outdoors, particularly to fish, so asking him to sit on rocks or logs or climb through some shrubs was no problem! Each time I asked him to look out into the water, I figured he wouldn’t mind that either because he could look for fish! Haha! In fact, after we finished shooting, he grabbed a little pole he had in his truck and went fishing…and caught two small fish!!

In addition to his love of nature, Reilley is also passionate about football: he is the long snapper for Colonial Forge’s Varsity team and I love that he brought along his letterman jacket and jersey for some portraits! I was also interested to learn that after he graduates, Reilley wants pursue a degree in Aviation!! How cool is that?! He actually just recently received an acceptance letter from the University of North Dakota – brrrr – and he’s waiting to hear back from several other schools, including the much warmer West Florida, before he commits. So awesome!!
