About a year ago, my brother Billy enlisted in the Marine Corps. His predicted ship date to Boot Camp was December 2016 (he had to graduate high school first), but when a spot opened up about a month ago for him to leave early, he took it. He has wanted to serve in our nation’s military since he was a little kid, and he was SO excited that it was finally his turn. He left for Parris Island on October 24th and as the bus pulled away, he was grinning from ear to ear and practically bouncing in his seat. He was so ready. Meanwhile, my poor mom and I cried – we were definitely not ready!
Before he left, I wanted to take some portraits of him because I know when he comes home he will not only look different, he will be different. He’ll be a man. A Marine. And though he’ll still be just as handsome, he’ll definitely have less hair!! I’m so proud to be his sister, and I can’t wait to see him graduate on January 20th!
Please pray for my family, especially my mom, while he’s away. And obviously pray for Billy! Pray for his safety, good health, perseverance, and that his relationship with Christ would be strengthened and steadfast through this time.
Enjoy some favorites from our mini-portrait session!
Momma. She misses him so much.
Love this dude.
I love that we didn’t plan to match, but we did 🙂
